The Art of Music, the Music of Art is a concert-lecture programme designed to enhance audience enjoyment of both music and the visual arts. Content is meant to be enjoyed by casual observers/listeners of art and classical music, and by aficionados alike (even music majors)! Attendees will witness the results of parallel movements in the arts throughout history: John Dowland with painter Nicolas Hilliard in the Renaissance; J.S. Bach with Sir Peter Paul Rubens in the Baroque; Debussey with Monet of the impressionist movement. These and several more examples and stories will link aural and visual experience for an evening that will transport the audience into the context of some of history's most beloved works of art and music.
